(This message was sent to me this week and I am posting it and my reply--minus identifying information--in the hopes that it might be helpful to others.--Jayne)
Dear Jayne thankyou for your monthly emails/newsletters. Can you please note that I have a new email address: I was ... now it is ....
Your latest email just came at the right time. I wrote to you sometime ago after being prescribed prednisone which I unfortunately took. .It left me with many bad side effects as well as I feel really messing my hormone system up.
Being very desperate I went on natural hormone replacement taking 300mg of progesterone orally. Then they decided to put some `Dhea 5 mgs with the progesterone. I stopped taking it because I was wondering if it was helping and decided to try some other things including having vitamin B12 injections. I am taking folic acid B6 omega 3 and 6 and vit.c and multi vit. B plus I am also taking a soy protein drink. I eat pretty healthy and also exercise daily. Although I am feeling better I still need to improve especially round period time. The hormone people think I should go back on replacement but I am not sure if I trust them......and basically it is pretty much to do with what you have said in your newsletter.....as it is money in their pockets. They have said it usually takes a while to work. I took it for about six weeks and still had very sore breasts and the last straw was getting two heavy periods in a month. My head probably wasn't as foggy but I had dull headaches most days. Since coming off it and taking the vitamins I no longer have sore breasts so that has improved. Headaches have gone only have them slightly around period time.
I gathered from your newsletter that you think natural hormone replacement taken orally works - have I got that right? While I understand that you do not wish to say what I should do I value your opinion as it is so hard to find out from people about this stuff. While I do not wish to be on this stuff all the time as I too think the natural way through life style is the remody I feel like I need a little help at the moment while trying different natural remodies. I suggested to the hormone people that I should take only half the amount they had prescribed they said no I should take the lot. I realise that you probably get many emails from people asking for advice and I thank you for your time and if possible at some time would very much appreciate your opinion.
Kindest Regards to you and thanks again for your newsletters. . .J.N.
