I heard somewhere that if you are consuming fruits and vegetable or their juices that it is best to not consume them together because they can neutralize each others enzymes or something else and that you should either have fruits in the morning and veggies in the afternoon or visa versa. Is this true or is it OK to mix them in the same meal?

The quick answer is that it is best to consume fruit by itself. The reason is because it digests very quickly, but if you eat other things at the same time, digestion is slowed down and fruit will begin to ferment in the digestive tract. One of the reasons it is suggested that fruit be eatien at the morning meal is because food from the evening before has had plenty of time to digest over night.
In addition, keep in mind that different foods need different enzymes to digest. Fresh fruits and vegetables all come "packaged" with their own necessary enzymes for digestion. Cooked foods don't have any of their own (they are destroyed by temperatures over 118 degrees), so the body has to make them to make digestion possible.
Also, even though the sugars present in fruits are more "body friendly," they are still sugar, so more vegetable juice and less fruit juice would be the best choice.
Keep in mind that everything is relative. Someone who has been on the Standard American Diet (SAD) for many years would be doing their body a favor by adding more fruits and vegetable juices, even mixed together. This helps with the flavor while they get used to it and in time the ratio can be adjusted as their tastes change.
There is a product called "Juice Plus" that would helpful for everyone, but especially for people who do not or will not consume fresh fruit and vegetables, or their juices, on a regular basis. If anyone reading this is interested in knowing more about this product, please contact me by email.
I hope this answers your question!
